The Department of Science is one of the first departments of St Xavier’s College, Jaipur. It has a strong lineage to science education in the state of Rajasthan. It also has a robust foundation developed under the pioneering guidance of renowned and experienced Jesuits who firmly believe in establishing a strong foundation for academics, research aptitude, and holistic growth of our young minds.

Since 2015, the Department has been following the University of Rajasthan (UoR) curriculum at undergraduate level. It offers pass courses in subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Economics. The teaching faculty is dedicated towards imparting quality science education to students, supplementing with innovative methods of teaching and guidance by laboratory experiments. A scientific temper and research innovations are the main strengths of the Department.

Xavier’s Scientific Eye (XSI): The Science Club under the direction of the Department has been formed to enkindle the spirit of inquiry and research among students. It helps them to systematise their outreach activities. During the current academic session 2021-2022, the Department aspires to come up with its quarterly Newsletter “XSI Times”.

The Science Academies Lecture, workshops, national and international webinars, talks, debates, industrial visits, educational tours, excursions are held by the Department of Science on a regular basis.

    It is so heartening to see the Department of Science heading towards progress ever since St Xavier's College, Jaipur has occupied its newer and more spacious campus at Nevta-Mahapura Road. Congratulation and all the very Best!
